PARTNER VISA

Partner visa is divided into two categories:

  • offshore (outside of Australia) and
  • onshore (inside Australia).

There are two types of Partner visas:

  • temporary and
  • permanent.
Offshore (outside of Australia)Onshore (inside Australia).
Prospective Marriage visa Subclass 300 – allow the applicant to
come to Australia to marry a prospective spouse and then apply for
a Partner visa. Visa duration between 9 and 15 months.
Immigration fee – from AUD1,310
Temporary Partner (Provisional) visa Subclass 309
 (apply overseas) – allows the
·        de facto partner or
·        spouse of an Australian citizen
·        Australian permanent resident or
·        eligible NZ citizen
to live in Australia temporarily.
This is the first step in applying for a permanent visa subclass 100.
Temporary Partner visa Subclass 820
 (apply in Australia) – allows the
·        partner or
·        spouse of an Australian citizen,
·        Australian permanent resident or
·        eligible New Zealand citizen
to live in Australia temporarily.
This visa is the first step in applying for a permanent visa subclass 801.
Permanent (Migrant) visa Subclass 100
(apply overseas)- allows the
·        de facto partner or
·        spouse of an Australian citizen,
·        Australian permanent resident or
·        eligible New Zealand citizen
to live in Australia permanently.

(apply in Australia) – allows the
·        partner or spouse of an Australian citizen,
·        Australian permanent resident or
·        eligible New Zealand citizen
to live in Australia permanently.
